Week 70-71 What a weekly!

Me standing in a rainy intersection for aesthetic

This week was super rainy and great! We were pretty much drenched for three days straight but it's alright be cause we had this conversation:

Random guy named Michael: what are you doing walking around in this??

Us: the truth doesn't stop for the rain! (Or something else super missionary-like and weird)

Michael: are you jehovahs?

Us: nah we're members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints! Can we give you a little pamphlet?

Michael: sure, if you're out in this weather. Aren't you allowed to have umbrellas?

And we got to explain a little bit of the restoration to him and sister Colvin was holding a nice grapefruit the whole time. And that's about how missionary work goes! Blessins!

Ummmmmm

But this week was cool! We had a member drive us around for a few hours (🙏) on Wednesday and we ended up at young women because all the streets were flooded! We got to do yoga in skirts and learn about the word of wisdom! It was awesome! It was also helpful because they were trying to teach them about how bad sugar is for your body and sister Colvin and I said, " we're in the midst of a great war against sugar! Aka the 40 day sugar fast our whole mission is on. Sugar is bad for you! Even though it tastes good! Make good choices!" And they went, "shoot, that's dumb." But it was nice that we felt useful.

We had a couple guys try to tell us what we believed this week. That didn't last long because we have THE ACTUAL AUTHORITY FROM GOD IN OUR CHURCH. One still tried to chase us down with his bible as we biked away. But it was an interesting testimony builder. It's nice to have your own testimony and not feel like you have to rip someone's else's faith apart to make yours stronger. #giftoftheholyghost

But yes. This week was good and my butt isn't so sore from biking and we're talking to lots of strangers and sharing our testimonies a lot and it's just the best time even though some people say no! It's still true no matter what!

Please pray that the people we're teaching will continue to progress in the gospel!

Don't forget to read your scriptures!

Week 67-68 Happy New Year? Already?

Christmas selfies cuz we can

Not a ton of time. Sorry! I'll tell you why, I took a FAT nap for three hours. Happy New Year! This week was crazy! We had something every day and it was wild. Monday was Christmas eve and so we couldn't do much because we didn't want people to say "get off my porch, it's Christmas eve!" Which is ironic because our intention is to talk about the savior and their families but it's alright. Their loss. Christmas was p day! Good time. Talked to the fam. Jonah got to be there too which was cool.

Wednesday we had district meeting which was good, as usual. Thursday we had a missionary council meeting in Arcadia which took 5-ever and then Friday we had a temple trip for some of the missionaries that are ummm dying eventually? It's fine. And then on Saturday we went back to the temple to do baptisms for the dead with Trudy! So it was wild.

Highlights:

The Lord blessed us this week for being so busy! We were able to find some really cool people! One in particular is named Roger. I've never actually met him, but we talked to him through his ring doorbell and he wanted us to come back! He's so cool. It was seriously so funny 😂

We also were walking and we saw this house with poinsettias growing out of the ground in her front yard and sister Smith and I were like "whay the heck I thought those only grew in the pots." So we knocked on her door to tell her that her plants were cool and she said she'd come to church!

Another cool story! We were sitting in in-n-out, as one does in California 😎, and it's was jam-packed with people and we sat at this empty table for four people and at the other table next to us that was also meant for four there was this single guy just chillin with his fries and there was a family waiting for a table so he came and sat with us to let them have the table! Obviously We were thinking, "wow, this is some great Christian potential." So we talked to him and he said he would come to church too! It was awesome. Super nice dude. He's also actually married so don't get any ideas people. He's interested in Jesus.

We got to do baptisms with Trudy! She's so cute. We went to the temple and she just had so many questions it was the sweetest thing. She was really nervous so she just ended up doing the confirmations for the dead instead of baptisms and she really enjoyed it. Ask me about this trip when I get home because there's some funny stuff I probably shouldn't put into a big email 😂😂 on the way out we ran into our bishop! It was pretty cool. He was able to talk to her a ton and answer lots of her questions and it was a tender mercy for sure. It was great! Also, the guy baptizing people is a guy from my old area in Hacienda Heights who is actually my 6th cousin! Small world!

Anyway, have a good week! Happy New Year!

Don'
t forget to read your scriptures
